You Better, You Better, You Bet

I was driving home from work this afternoon and turned on the radio to one of my favorite songs by The Who, "You Better You Bet". Of course I cranked it up and yelled the chorus every time it came on. "When I say I love you, you say, 'YOU BETTER!' You better, you better, you bet!"  And of course I was completely oblivious to the stares of other drivers in the rush hour traffic around me, craning their next to see who the crazy yelling girl in the 07 Corolla was. 

And then it struck me - this song could be Mike's and my wedding song. It's perfect. More...

Tractoring: A Saga

Since we bought our house in March, everyone who has come over has exclaimed about the huge backyard that we have. And it's true - our house is small, but our lot is almost a third of an acre. And our house sits right up at the front of our lot, so our backyard just stretches back and back. And back. And, while it's big, it's not really developed at all. When we had our housewarming party, we had what might technically be called grass - it was green enough that we didn't feel embarrassment about putting chairs and tables out on it - but it was really just weeds. About thirty yards or so from the back porch, the yard abruptly drops off into a steep incline, which, if you stumble all the way down, will take you to the neighbor's fence. More...

Disney Princess Disaster

So I was at another birthday party for a friend's daughter today, and I noticed that one of the birthday bags had a bunch of Disney princesses on it. There they all were, smiling across the plastic: Jasmine, Aurora, Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, Pocahontas, and Ariel. This disturbed me greatly.    More...
